Swordfish (2001)
starring John Travolta
John Travolta and Halle Berry star in this spectacular action film from early 2001. Other than the non-stop action sequences and a gratuitous shot of Halle Berry, the movie is bereft of plot, character development, or anything remotely intelligent.

The Patriot (2000)
starring Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger
A surprisingly well-made epic from director Roland Emmerich, more well-known for cotton candy mega-effects flicks like Godzilla and Independence Day, The Patriot was nominated for three Academy Awards (Best Cinematography, Best Score, and Best Sound) benefitted from a great story and solid acting from star Mel Gibson. Definitely a movie to own on DVD.
